Welcome to the Early Music Society of Queensland

Tenor1

The Early Music Society of Queensland Inc. (EMSQ) brings together people with an interest in the music, instruments and dance of the medieval, renaissance, baroque, and classical periods. Our aim is to support and promote early music in Queensland.

Members play recorders, viols and other stringed instruments, many types of renaissance reed instruments such as crumhorns and rackett, baroque flute, cornetto, sackbutt and more. We hold workshops, concerts and have an informative bi-monthly newsletter.

EMSQ is incorporated as a non-profit society in the state of Queensland and is a registered charity with the ACNC. We are able to take tax-deductable donations over $2 from within Australia. Please ask the Treasurer if you would like to donate or click on the Donations tab on the menu above.

As required, we are covered for $30 million in public liability insurance.

Our mission is to support early music in Queensland to the best of our ability and in a variety of ways. Workshops, concerts, a newsletter, instrument hire to members and our library are just some of the ways we achieve this.
